Coco Flip is a Melbourne-based furniture and lighting design studio founded in 2010 by Kate Stokes and Haslett Grounds. Known for character-rich, locally crafted pieces, the studio collaborates with skilled artisans to produce timeless products that blend playfulness with refined craftsmanship. Their work is inspired by ideas, relationships, and materiality, aiming to imbue both residential and commercial spaces with personality and warmth.

At Coco Flip, we believe in creating objects with character, integrity, and a sense of place. Guided by curiosity and a love of craft, our design process is slow, thoughtful, and grounded in collaboration—with local makers, natural materials, and timeless forms. We aim to design pieces that are both playful and refined—objects to be treasured for years to come. Our designs aim to bring warmth and character into spaces through carefully selected materials, subtle curves, form and proportion. It's not fancy or tricky, it's simple and honest.
We have always believed that good things take time, so we resist the urge to rush. Instead, we move at a pace that allows us to take stock, enjoy the moment, and appreciate the details. We’re proud to work closely with our local community of makers, valuing craftsmanship, relationships and slow, thoughtful production. Our commitment to sustainability and meaningful connection guides every decision we make. We want to live in a world where people buy less and buy better, investiving in pieces they truly love and caring for them so they will last.
Good design is always about balance and poetry. We believe that the best design is neither ostentatious nor meek but strikes a chord that enables people to breath a little deeper and connect personally with their surroundings. It should encourage a moment of pause and make you feel something out of the ordinary.
